From specialfunctionswiki
Theorem
The following formula holds: $$\tanh \left( \dfrac{z}{2} \right) = \dfrac{\sinh(z)}{\cosh(z)+1},$$ where $\tanh$ denotes hyperbolic tangent, $\sinh$ denotes hyperbolic sine, and $\cosh$ denotes hyperbolic cosine.
