Beta in terms of gamma

Theorem

The following formula holds: $$B(x,y)=\dfrac{\Gamma(x)\Gamma(y)}{\Gamma(x+y)},$$ where $B$ denotes the beta function and $\Gamma$ denotes the gamma function.
