The cotangent function is defined by the formula $$\cot(z)=\dfrac{1}{\tan z}=\dfrac{\cos(z)}{\sin(z)},$$ where $\tan$ denotes the tangent function.

Properties

Proposition: $\dfrac{d}{dx}$$\cot$$(x)=-$$\csc$$^2(x)$
