The Gudermannian $\mathrm{gd}$ is defined for $x \in \mathbb{R}$ by the formula $$\mathrm{gd}(x) = \displaystyle\int_0^x \dfrac{1}{\cosh t} \mathrm{d}t,$$ where $\mathrm{cosh}$ denotes the hyperbolic cosine.
